Inside Perspective: Toy Makers Bring Disney Stories to Life

By David Gill, The Walt Disney Company

What makes working at The Walt Disney Company so exciting is the opportunity to meet some amazing people who bring our characters and stories to life. This is the first in a series that will introduce you to some of these unique and dedicated professionals – people who make Disney more than just another company.

We begin with a group seriously dedicated to fun and games – our toy makers! I recently sat down with Armen Mkrtchyan, a toys technology manager at Disney Consumer Products, who explained how his team uses new technologies to bring Disney characters to life.

It takes nine to 18 months to get a character from the big screen on to store shelves, and I found this “toy story” extremely fascinating!

Check out this video to get a glimpse at the magic behind toy-making at Disney.

Hi,

This is such a wonderful insight! I really liked the kind of work Armen is doing. I am from india, and have been in love with Disney since I was a kid. I am an Engineer and I love creativity! Is there any possibility I can apply for positions with Walt Disney as well?

Please do let me know!

I will be following the blog! :)

Arun
