Here are some of this week’s highlights from around Disney that we haven’t yet shared on Disney Post, including news of Disney’s Broadway musical, Aladdin, which will soar into New Amsterdam Theatre in 2014.

Spring 2014 will bring Disney’s Aladdin, a new Broadway musical, to the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City. This production will be the first staging of the full-length, two-act Aladdin and will feature a new script and an original design scaled to the Broadway stage. A full Broadway score with five beloved songs from the animated feature film will also be a part of the stage show. Disney XD, Marvel Entertainment, First Book and ABC-Owned Television Stations are teaming up to champion children's literacy through "Reading With: Marvel Comics Close-Up.” A recent event at the Burbank Public Library kicked off the initiative and included a donation of more than 210,000 books to several communities across the country. "Reading With: Marvel Comics Close-Up” also features series of interstitials that dive deep into the Marvel Universe, including Marvel Comics Close-Up (hosted by Marvel's Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, and Dylan Riley Snyder from Disney XD’s Kickin' It) where viewers got an inside look at 10 compelling Marvel comics. In addition to the interstitials, new and classic Marvel Comics stories will be available at DisneyXD.com/comics to further encourage kids to read.
