Disney Employee Profile: Spotlight on a Disney Beginnings Host

For many new Disney employees, their first day at The Walt Disney Company involves a visit to The Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California, so they can take part in the Disney Beginnings orientation program. Although their Disney stories will take them to diverse parts of the Company, these new employees will always have one thing in common: a warm—and enlightening—welcome to The Walt Disney Company. Bill Hart, one of the Disney Beginnings facilitators, spends an entire day familiarizing new hires with the Disney heritage, organization, brands and culture.

You’ve encountered them many times while strolling through Disney parks around the world. You may have even asked them a question or two while waiting to board an attraction. Walt Disney Parks and Resorts attraction hosts bring a touch of Disney magic to park guests every day—an opportunity that attracted Maggie Sears to become a Walt Disney World Resort cast member. For this Disney employee profile, we headed to Magic Kingdom Park and talked to Maggie about her experience as an attraction host. Disney Employee Profile: Spotlight on a Designer

Strolling through the Glendale Central Creative Campus, we bump into Melissa Cassara, a third-generation Disney employee. “My grandfather worked at the Studio as a carpenter, and my father was a set dresser and would often work on Disney productions. My mother even worked on the Studio lot,” she says. “I feel special carrying on the Disney tradition in my family.”
