The great news continues for "Frozen"! The film, which won the BAFTA Award for best animated film this weekend, recently passed $955 million at the worldwide box office; it’s doing particularly well in South Korea, where it has held the No. 1 spot for five straight weeks and is already the biggest animated release of all time.

Weekend Forecast: 'Frozen' Sing-Along Sweeps Into Theaters

We promise we didn’t time the release of "Frozen," the latest animated hit from Walt Disney Animation Studios, to the historic polar vortex that has blanketed the country in snow and subzero temperatures. That was a serious stroke of uncanny timing. But our recently announced theatrical sing-along engagement of "Frozen" has something very specific to thank for its timing: The film has hit a chord with audiences. Fan response has been incredible. We can’t count the YouTube covers, fan sites and GIFs that have sprung up in the past few weeks!

While most of the U.S. remains bundled up against the winter weather, it feels a little like springtime at The Walt Disney Studios—and not only because we’re in still-sunny Southern California (yes, it’s about 70 degrees as I write this). But good news is blossoming everywhere for "Frozen," our 53rd animated feature film from Walt Disney Animation Studios. Last night the film took home the Golden Globe for best animated film—the same day it crossed the $700 million milestone at the global box office.

Disney News This Week: Lucasfilm and Marvel Join Forces to Publish 'Star Wars' Comics, 'Frozen' Crosses $500 Million in Worldwide Box Office, Rose and Fiesta Bowls on ESPN

Just this morning, Lucasfilm and Marvel Entertainment released their first big announcement for 2014. The two are joining forces to bring new "Star Wars" adventures, with Marvel granted exclusive rights to create and publish "Star Wars" comics and graphic novels beginning in 2015. In fact, the agreement marks a homecoming for the "Star Wars" comic books. If you didn’t know, Marvel Comics published the first "Star Wars" comic book, "Star Wars" #1, in March 1977, which went on to sell more than 1 million copies. Thereafter, Marvel Comics published its "Star Wars" series for nine years.

Disney News This Week: New 'Million Dollar Arm' Trailer Released, 'Frozen' on Billboard 200 and Holidays at Disneyland Resort

Walt Disney Pictures released a brand-new trailer for "Million Dollar Arm," dated for domestic release on May 16, 2014. The story follows sports agent JB Bernstein (Jon Hamm) as he concocts a scheme to find baseball’s next great pitching ace. Hoping to find a young cricket pitcher he can turn into a Major League Baseball star, JB travels to India to produce a reality show competition called “Million Dollar Arm.”
