Disney News This Week: Disney Ships Receive Top Honors, 'General Hospital' Airs 13,000th Episode, 'Frozen' Sing-Along on 'Good Morning America,' 'The Wind Rises' Now Playing in Theaters

The Cruise Critic Cruisers' Choice Awards were recently announced, and Disney ships received 29 awards, including 13 No. 1 awards such as Best Overall, Best for Families, Best Service, Best Dining and Entertainment and Best Cabins and Public Rooms for the Disney Fantasy in the Large Ship category. This is the largest number of awards Disney Cruise Line has ever received at a single time. In addition, all four Disney ships were recently ranked among the top cruise ships in the world on the Condé Nast Traveler 2014 Readers' Choice list, claiming four of the top five spots in the Best Large Cruise Ships category.

Disney News This Week: Walt Disney Studios Award Nominations, Celebrating 90 Years of Disney Animation, 'Good Morning America' Wins November Sweeps

Let the award season begin! The Walt Disney Studios was honored with a number of Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards nominations this week. "Saving Mr. Banks" star Emma Thompson—who plays the role of Mary Poppins author P. L. Travers—received a “Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama” nod for the Golden Globes and was recognized in the “Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role” category for the SAG Awards. "Frozen", Walt Disney Animation Studios’ latest film, was honored with a Golden Globe nomination for “Best Animated Feature Film,” and “Let It Go,” one Elsa’s main ballads, secured a spot in the “Best Original Song—Motion Picture” category. Congratulations to the Studio for this amazing achievement!

Just five months ago, "Good Morning America (GMA)" co-anchor Robin Roberts took a leave from the top-rated morning show to undergo bone marrow transplant surgery as treatment for the rare blood disorder Myelodysplastic Syndrome, or MDS. Today, to the delight of devoted fans everywhere, the beloved host made her highly anticipated return home to the show and her GMA family. World-renowned DJ Steve Porter has created mashup video mixes for several groups across Disney, including ESPN, Good Morning America and most recently, Disney Parks.
