Behind the Music of Walt Disney Records' 'DCONSTRUCTED'

Same old song and dance? When it comes to Disney’s new album "DCONSTRUCTED," not quite! "DCONSTRUCTED," available now, is a collection of classic songs from the vast Disney music catalog that have been re-imagined by some of today’s most talented remix artists, including Avicii, Armin Van Buuren and Kaskade. The album is ingeniously executed and infectiously danceable, and when it comes to remixing, the possibilities are endless. I wanted to go straight to the source to find out about the creative impetus behind "DCONSTRUCTED."

Disney's 'Frozen' and Marvel's 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' Heat Up Box Offices Around the World

With a cumulative global gross of more than $1.073 billion, Disney’s "Frozen" passed Disney•Pixar’s "Toy Story 3" over the weekend to become the biggest animated film of all time. It’s also now No. 10 on the list of all-time highest grossing films. "Frozen" opened wide in the U.S. on November 27, spent 16 consecutive weeks in the top 10 and has grossed $398.4 million domestically. Internationally, it has taken in $675.5 million, with its final opening on March 14 in Japan, where it has been No. 1 for three straight weeks and brought in more than $51 million.

'Star Wars: Episode VII' Update, Pixar Animation Studios Announces New 'Cars' and 'Incredibles' Films and More Studios Announcements

Exciting studio news from Disney’s 2014 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, held today in Portland, Oregon! Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced that Lucasfilm will start shooting "Star Wars: Episode VII" in mid-May. The film, directed by J.J. Abrams, will continue the "Star Wars" saga, taking place 30 years after the events depicted in 1983’s Return of the Jedi. While the hunt is on for three new young leads to join several familiar faces in the new film, fans will have to wait a little longer for word on who those characters and actors might be, as Bob confirmed the only official cast member so far is R2-D2.
