The Walt Disney Company’s 2026 theatrical slate is already making a powerful statement at the global box office. The Walt Disney Studios became the first studio to surpass $2 billion worldwide this year, fueled by strong performances across five releases. Disney and Pixar’s Hoppers delivered the biggest domestic debut for an original animated film since Coco (2017), underscoring the continued strength of original storytelling. Meanwhile, 20th Century Studios’ The Devil Wears Prada 2 proved that nearly two decades later, audiences are still drawn to the world of Runway. Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu marks Star Wars‘ return to the big screen and opened as the No. 1 film in the world. The release builds on the strength of The Mandalorian as Disney+’s most-watched Original, with more than 1.3 billion hours streamed globally.
Disney is bringing moviegoers of all ages together for their next unforgettable, big-screen experience. Here’s what’s coming to theaters this Summer 2026:

Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5
Release Date: June 19
The first few chords of a song by Disney Legend Randy Newman. An iconic blue-sky wallpaper filled with clouds. A cowboy and a space ranger whose friendship defined a generation.
For more than 30 years, Toy Story has remained one of Disney and Pixar’s most beloved franchises — and this summer, Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Disney Legend Tim Allen), Jessie (Joan Cusack), and the rest of the gang return for an all-new adventure that explores what happens when Toy meets Tech.
In Toy Story 5, Bonnie’s world is flipped upside down by her Lilypad (Greta Lee), a tablet device with its own ideas about what kids need most.
A new roster of voice talent includes Craig Robinson, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Shelby Rabara, Matty Matheson, Conan O’Brien, and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (aka Bad Bunny). Directed by Academy Award® winner Andrew Stanton and featuring a new score by Newman, Toy Story 5 continues Pixar’s lasting legacy of blending heart, humor, and emotional storytelling for fans across generations. The film will also include a brand-new original song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” by 14-time GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Taylor Swift.
Disney’s Moana
Release Date: July 10
The ocean is calling once again.
Disney’s live-action reimagining of Moana transforms the beloved animated classic for a new generation, with Catherine Laga‘aia stepping into the role of Moana alongside future Disney Legend Dwayne Johnson as everyone’s favorite demigod, Maui.
Since first stunning audiences in 2016, Moana has become one of Disney’s most enduring modern franchises; over the past five years, the first film has remained one of the most-streamed movies annually and last year, Moana 2 joined those ranks following its Disney+ debut.
Directed by Emmy® and Tony Award® winner Thomas Kail, the film features new music from future Disney Legend Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa‘i, and Mark Mancina.
Searchlight Pictures’ Super Troopers 3

The Broken Lizard crew returns to theaters this summer with Super Troopers 3, the long-awaited next chapter in the long-running cult comedy franchise that has entertained fans for more than two decades.
When Farva’s wildly over-the-top engagement to Thorny’s sister spirals into chaos, the Super Troopers must navigate Thorny’s schemes to break up the relationship, while trying to crack a pernicious new drug ring — all to save the day and maybe the wedding itself.
The film is directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, who is reprising his role as Thorny alongside the rest of the Broken Lizard troupe: Kevin Hefferman (Farva), Steve Lemme (Mac), Paul Soter (Foster), and Erik Stolhanske (Rabbit).
20th Century Studios’ The Dog Stars
Release Date: August 28
Ridley Scott places audiences directly in the center of a brutal, post-apocalyptic world led by a critically acclaimed ensemble: Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Allison Janney.
Based on Peter Heller’s bestselling novel, The Dog Stars is an epic thriller set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice. When a mysterious radio transmission is heard, Hig (Elordi), a young pilot, and military survivalist Bangley (Brolin) set out on a dangerous journey in search of hope and the possibility that they may not be alone after all.
From toys and voyagers to troopers and survivors, Disney’s Summer 2026 theatrical slate showcases the company’s unmatched ability to deliver stories that entertain audiences across genres, generations, and fandoms.
