Disney, Formula 1® and Make-A-Wish® have come together on a first-of-its-kind initiative to help grant life-changing wishes for children living with critical illnesses.

At the center of the collaboration, two custom racing helmets have been created with Bell Racing and designed by Bret Iwan (the official voice of Mickey Mouse), with creative direction from Bobby Kim (Global Creative Director, Disney Consumer Products).

The special edition helmets feature a matte black base with high-gloss graphic elements, combining bold red and yellow accents alongside Mickey Mouse artwork and Formula 1 branding. A subtle Make-A-Wish star appears just behind Mickey’s shoe, reading as a trailing sparkle as he races forward, adding both magic and meaning to the design. The concept brings together Bobby Kim’s background in streetwear and contemporary design with Bret Iwan’s character artistry, translating Mickey into a racing context through graphic detailing, numbering, and track-inspired striping. Each helmet is paired with a custom presentation box designed for display, featuring a plexiglass case and a certificate of authenticity signed by both Iwan and Kim.

The first helmet was signed by Formula 1 drivers during race weekend at Silverstone, including Make-A-Wish France ambassador Pierre Gasly, and will be auctioned via F1 Authentics, operated under license by Memento Exclusives. Auction sign-up will begin on July 7, with bidding live from July 11-18. Net proceeds* will benefit Make-A-Wish International, helping to grant life-changing wishes for children and their families outside the U.S. when they need it most. Access the auction via this link.

The second helmet will be showcased at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, taking place August 14-16, 2026, in Anaheim, California, where fans will have the opportunity to see the design up close.

This initiative builds on the long-standing relationship between Disney and Make-A-Wish, which began with the first official wish granted at Disneyland more than 45 years ago. Since then, Disney and Make-A-Wish have teamed up to grant more than 175,000 wishes around the globe. The Make-A-Wish Foundation and Make-A-Wish Foundation International are U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, that support children facing critical illness worldwide through a network of Affiliates.
