June 26 marks 626 Day, an annual fan-fueled holiday celebrating Disney’s Stitch — also known as Experiment 626 — and the story that has sparked an incredible fandom in people of all ages around the world.
This year, Disney is celebrating the occasion across its segments with new content, special programming, experiences for fans, and a wave of products inspired by the beloved character.
The celebration follows a milestone year for the franchise. In 2025, Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch crossed $1 billion at the global box office, helping introduce the story to a new generation while bringing to life the world of Stitch in an all-new way for longtime fans to experience. A sequel is now in development, with more stories still to come.
The excitement includes the announcement at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Festival of the all-new animated short Lilo & Scratch, from directors Fawn Veerasunthorn and Malcon Pierce, which debuts in theaters this November with Disney’s Hexed. This is the first project starring Stitch from Disney Animation since the 2002 original animated feature. The directors gave a sneak peek at the new short, which features the voices of Chris Sanders, reprising his role as Stitch, and Maia Kealoha, reprising her role as Lilo from the live-action 2025 version of the film.
New Content, Throwbacks, and a Closer Look at Stitch
In addition to Lilo & Scratch, other new and returning content is at the center of this year’s 626 Day.
Disney Animation is sharing behind-the-scenes videos and artist-driven features that explore how Stitch was brought to life, offering fans a closer look at the creative process.
There is also new storytelling. A stylized animated short, Stitch & Angel’s Perfect Summer Day, follows the pair as they set out to create the perfect beach day — only for Stitch’s chaotic energy to get in the way. The short is available now globally on Disney+ and Disney Kids YouTube.
First introduced in Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Angel — also known as Experiment 624 — has the power to turn other experiments good or bad through her siren song. Angel made her pop star debut earlier this year with the release of “Glitter Glide,” a high-energy track performed by Descendants star Dara Reneé, with a built-in TikTok-worthy dance. The video is now available on Disney+.
Disney+ is the streaming home for fans looking to revisit the films and series, which can be found directly in the Lilo & Stitch Collection. Full episodes from Lilo & Stitch: The Series are also rolling out on YouTube, including episodes released on June 25 and June 26.
On television, Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Disney Jr. are airing the original Lilo & Stitch film and additional franchise content as part of a dedicated 626 Day programming lineup.
Across digital platforms, the celebration includes a mix of legacy content, fan-created posts, and new social storytelling that highlights Stitch’s place across Disney’s larger animation library.
Events, Experiences, and Global Fan Moments
Beyond screens, 626 Day is being celebrated through events and experiences around the world.
In Southern California, Disney is hosting Stitch’s 626 Day Beach Bash on June 26 — a pop-up style event in Newport Beach where fans can enjoy themed-treats, photo opportunities, product displays, and giveaways.
The day is also being marked across Disney’s global experiences, with regions across Europe and Asia activating through retail events, pop-ups, and digital campaigns. At Shanghai Disney Resort, guests can take part in a Stitch & Angel meet-and-greet, while a high-visibility Stitch-themed pop-up opens in Shanghai’s Zhang Yuan district, running from June 26 through the summer.
In other markets, 626 Day is showing up in locally tailored ways. Japan is introducing exclusive Stitch merchandise and a localized music initiative tied to the song “Glitter Glide.” Fans in Tokyo can experience the “Disney Stitch SUMMER COLLECTION” at SHIBUYA109, the city‘s iconic youth fashion landmark, from June 26 to July 12, featuring exclusive Japan-inspired Y2K gyaru-style merchandise, a pop-up store, in-mall decorations, and more.
A Stitch-inspired pop-up series will also launch across three major cities in Taiwan starting June 26. Inspired by Taiwan’s vibrant night market culture, the pop-ups will feature immersive experiences and collectible merchandise designed to celebrate 626 Day throughout the summer.
In London, Disney lovers and collectors are invited to step into a world of enchantment as Disney YuYus arrive in Soho with a pastel bright pop-up boutique and exclusive preview experience for fans and collectors, taking place June 26-28. Tickets are available for booking here: DisneyTickets.co.uk
Across each of these locations, the focus is on bringing Stitch into real-world settings — from immersive fan moments to everyday environments.
Products, Collaborations, and Retail Moments
New products are another key part of the 626 Day celebration.
Throughout June, a series of releases and reveals are rolling out across categories, from toys and books to apparel and accessories. These include collaborations with partners such as LEGO, Pandora, adidas, Topps, Just Play, and other licensees.
The Disney Store is also featuring a dedicated 626 Day assortment, including plush, apparel, and collectibles, along with a themed site experience that brings Stitch’s signature mayhem to the shopping experience.
Across global retailers, hundreds of Stitch-inspired products are being highlighted through in-store displays, online storefronts, and seasonal promotions tied to summer and beach themes.
A Growing Tradition
What began as a fan-driven tradition has grown into a celebration that spans Disney’s storytelling, experiences, and products.
This year’s 626 Day brings together new content, returning favorites, and global fan experiences that reflect Stitch’s enduring appeal.
As the story of Lilo & Stitch continues — with new content on the way and a sequel in development — 626 Day remains a celebration of the character’s playful chaos, his heart, and the idea of ‘ohana that continues to resonate with audiences around the world.
