Here are some quick updates that we haven’t yet shared on the Disney Post from the week of November 4:

Wreck-It Ralph Wins Weekend Box Office — Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Wreck-It Ralph opened in theaters nationwide on November 2 with the highest Disney Animation opening ever. To date, the film has earned $60.6 million domestically. It also debuted in six international markets including Russia and Mexico, bringing the current worldwide box office total to $77.3 million. Upcoming international openings are scheduled to take place in countries around the world, including Iceland, Malaysia and Chile.

ESPN Initiative Honors Veterans and Troops — ESPN is honoring veterans and troops in programming across its domestic media platforms November 7-11. The highlight of the five-day tribute is the Sears Armed Forces Classic men’s basketball game that will be played on a specially constructed court at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. The game is part of ESPN’s fourth annual America’s Heroes: A Salute to Our Veterans initiative presented by USAA. To learn more about this initiative and programming, click here.

Disney Cruise Line Sails to Jamaica — Disney Cruise Line will visit Jamaica for the first time with new itineraries departing from Galveston, Texas in late 2013. The new seven-night Western Caribbean voyages will call on Falmouth, Jamaica, as well as Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico. Also in late 2013, Disney Cruise Line will sail Bahamas cruises from Galveston, making stops at Key West, Nassau and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. I am very glad to hear the Wreck-It Ralph is doing well. While I have yet to see it, I have heard very positive things. I feel very strongly that Feature Animation is the most vital part of the company, and I am thrilled at every success that emerges from Disney.
