Walt Disney World Resort to Host Professional and Amateur Sports This Spring


Best known for its four theme parks, two water parks and 26 resort hotels, Walt Disney World Resort is also home to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, featuring state-of-the-art sports facilities and partners.

From baseball and soccer to marathons and track & field, Disney Sports takes sports and competition to the next level for athletes and fans of all ages with more than 300 events throughout the year.

This week, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex began hosting the Atlanta Braves spring training, where fans can watch the defending National League East champions embark on their 17th spring exhibition season. Starting February 26, the Braves will play 17 home games against the Detroit Tigers at Walt Disney World Resort’s Champion Stadium.

Also this spring, soccer fans can catch some of their favorite Major League Soccer players during the Disney Pro Soccer Classic. And for those who prefer to participate, runDisney is hosting the Princess Half Marathon this weekend, while high school teams across seven sports are coming to the resort for the Disney Spring Training program at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex now through April.
