Summertime is Story Time

At Disney Consumer Products, we are hard at work developing products that continue the tradition of creative storytelling. This summer is no exception. With only approximately ten percent of students nationwide participating in summer school or attending schools with non-traditional calendars, parents are looking for creative ways to keep their kids engaged in meaningful ways.

This summer, young Disney fans are in luck. Disney Publishing Worldwide (DPW) has an amazing nationwide reading campaign that will bring immersive storytelling experiences right to kids’ fingertips, with a swipe here and swipe there.

The “Summertime is Storytime” campaign features Disney’s ever-expanding portfolio of award-winning book apps. One big highlight includes offering the popular “Disney Storytime”app —a No. 1 paid book in the AppStore— Free for a limited time! ‘Free’ sounds pretty amazing to me! In addition to the three free stories, parents can purchase up to 17 additional Disney stories in-app with the innovative kid-safe credits system. Parents purchase the credits, but kids get to pick and unlock their favorite stories.

I got an exclusive first look at the summer slate. The new apps that will be featured weekly, are filled with beloved Disney characters and classic stories children know and love from Princess and Cars to 101 Dalmatians. I was personally impressed with the rich animation, original music and ability to create and personalize my own storytime avatar. I think this customer rating summarizes it best, “This is a great app for my kids! They love the stories that come with the app and are begging for more. Quality storytelling like this is priceless.”

Disney Storytime, the largest collection of Disney stories in one app, offers hours of immersive reading fun and each week is bound to please. The DPW “Summertime is Storytime” campaign runs until August 22.
