‘Incredibles 2‘ Sets Biggest Domestic Animated Debut Ever With $182.7 Million

Pixar’s Incredibles 2 posted a heroic $182.7 million at the domestic box office in its opening weekend, smashing the record for biggest animated debut of all time and vaulting into the top 10 debuts among all films in history at No. 8. It is also the highest-grossing PG debut and the No. 2 debut ever in June. With an aggregate critics score of 94-percent Certified Fresh on RottenTomatoes, the film scored an A+ CinemaScore from audiences, marking Pixar’s seventh A+ and 20th consecutive A-range CinemaScore out of 20 feature films.

Abroad, Incredibles 2 posted $53.1 million in a footprint of just 26 percent of the international market, bringing the global total to $235.8 million and taking the No. 1 spot in almost all markets and ranking as Pixar’s biggest opening weekend in Australia, Mexico, Argentina, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Chile, Colombia, Central America, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Israel, UAE and Paraguay.

The Incredibles burst on to the scene in the 2004 smash hit The Incredibles, which earned over $633 million worldwide and was one of the biggest animated films ever at the time. The Supers are headed to Disney California Adventure’s soon-to-be-unveiled Pixar Pier this summer when the Incredicoaster is unmasked!
