Disney Working With The Office Of The Russian Prime Minister Held A Charity Event For The Families Suffered From The Wildfires Of 2010

Disney with the support of the Russian Government held a New Year charity event for the children impacted by summer fires. The event took place at Mariinsky theatre in St. Petersburg on December 26, 2010. All the guests personally met Mickey and Minnie Mouse and enjoyed the classic ballet “The Nutcracker”.

More than 1,500 people were invited to the event, including families who suffered from the forest fires during the summer of 2010, children from large and single-parent families, orphans, disabled children and children suffering from severe diseases. All guests received an unforgettable New Year gift: the opportunity to meet their favorite Disney characters, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and enjoy the classic Russian ballet The Nutcracker.

The audience had a chance to plunge into the bewitching atmosphere of a New Year fairy-tale. At the end of the celebration, all guests received some pleasant surprises from Disney.

The New Year presents for children were provided by the Disney licensees – Confitrade, I-contact, Egmont Russia, SAKS, Step Puzzle and Velt.
