Disney Names Elissa Margolis to Head Enterprise Social Responsibility

The Walt Disney Company has announced that Elissa Margolis has been named senior vice president, Enterprise Social Responsibility. She will design and implement a global social responsibility strategy, encompassing all philanthropic, environmental and signature social responsibility programs across the Company. In making the announcement, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Christine M. McCarthy said, “She is a proven, highly respected, strategic business leader who will bring a new focus and diligence to Disney’s outreach efforts.” Margolis officially takes on this role beginning August 14.

An 11-year veteran of The Walt Disney Company, Margolis most recently served as senior vice president & general manager for Disney Store North America, part of Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. She was with the retail organization for nine years, and was instrumental in helping evolve the business through both brick and mortar and e-commerce channels.

Additionally, Margolis serves on the board of MEND, an organization that offers food, clothing, medical, eye care, dental and education and training services for those in need, and in the past has volunteered to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS prevention in local communities.
