Last week, Disney Interactive employees joined in the Disney VoluntEARS 30th anniversary celebration with a day of community service in South Los Angeles. We teamed up with City Year – an organization that works with underserved public schools to support students through mentorship, tutoring and community programming – to help beautify a local elementary school.
It was a fun day of volunteering for all and truly made an impact in the community. VoluntEARS, along with Disney Interactive Co-President Jimmy Pitaro, spent the day gardening and painting murals on campus.
In addition to regular VoluntEARS events throughout the year, Disney Interactive supports local and international nonprofits through studio tours for local youth groups, hospital visits and the popular Club Penguin Coins for Change program, which allows players to donate coins to support real-life causes. We also commit to improving communities’ through our “Own Your Impact” personal sustainability action program.
It’s been exciting to stand alongside tens of thousands of Disney VoluntEARS to celebrate 30 years of giving back by giving back!
