I’m a huge fan of Disney animation, which is why I’m particularly excited about today’s big news from Disney Interactive!
Just in time for D23 Expo 2013, the Ultimate Disney Fan Event, we launched Disney Animated, a new premium app which lets fans explore the story and tradition of 90 years of Disney animation. Built in partnership with Walt Disney Animation Studios and acclaimed app developer, Touch Press, Disney Animated invites guests to discover the art and technology behind all 53 animated films, access never-before-seen sketches, storyboards, maquettes and more spanning all eras of Walt Disney Animation Studios history. The app also allows users to try their hand at authentic animation workshops derived from actual Disney technology.
We’re also pulling out all the stops to showcase Disney Animated at the D23 Expo this weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center. After dropping by the Disney Interactive pavilion to experience the app for yourself, join co-author Dave Bossert, Eric Goldberg and a panel of esteemed animators and artists for the Disney Animated presentation in Stage 28 on Saturday at 3:30 p.m for a inside look at the making of the app. And on Sunday, August 11 at noon, Touch Press Co-founder Theodore Gray will join Disney Interactive Co-Presidents Jimmy Pitaro and John Pleasants on stage for Disney Interactive’s first ever D23 Arena presentation.
