Infographic: Disney Helps Connect Kids and Families to Nature

For two decades, the Disney Conservation Fund has been a key pillar in the Company’s efforts to conserve nature. The fund is committed to protecting the planet and helping kids develop lifelong conservation values. One of the ways Disney brings this to life is by helping families enjoy nature together.

In celebration of Earth Month, the fund released a new infographic that highlights the benefits of spending time outdoors.

Disney Named 'Corporate Partner of the Year' by Hispanic Scholarship Fund

In November, Disney announced a $1 million donation to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) to establish The Walt Disney Company-HSF Scholarship Program. To recognize this commitment and the Company’s support of outstanding Latino students, HSF named Disney “Corporate Partner of the Year” at its Leaders in Education Awards luncheon today in Los Angeles, California.

Disney Donates $1 Million to UNCF to Invest in Emerging Leaders

The motto of UNCF (United Negro College Fund) is, “A mind is a terrible thing to waste, but a wonderful thing to invest in.” And to help invest in young leaders’ academic and professional aspirations, Disney just announced “The Walt Disney Company UNCF Corporate Scholars Program”—a $1 million commitment to UNCF that will provide scholarships to outstanding African American students. “Higher education is the key to a successful future, especially in an increasingly knowledge-driven economy,” Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger said during the announcement. “Our program with UNCF will provide tools and resources to make college more accessible for promising students in historically underserved communities, so they are prepared and empowered to achieve their career dreams.”

The program also includes the creation of a Career Navigator web-based platform that will provide both career information and tools to a broad network of African American students, as well as targeted support services to scholarship recipients.

Disney Movie Moments Celebrates Compassion Month with February Film Festival
