Today, as part of our season of giving series, we’re sharing how ABC Family is engaging audiences and using social media to encourage viewers to give back alongside the network.

ABC Family is using its biggest on-air programming event of the year, 25 Days of Christmas, to promote its “25 Days of Giving Back” campaign to help fight hunger in partnership with Feeding America.

Viewers can participate by making a gift to Feeding America when they visit abcfamily.com and then add their photo to the “25 Days of Giving Back” tree by sharing their donation on Facebook or Twitter — a fun way to encourage friends and families to make a difference too. Viewers can also make a $10 donation to the organization by texting MEALS to 50555*.

As part of the campaign, ABC Family is donating the monetary equivalent of 250,000 meals to Feeding America to help families in need this December.

The “25 Days of Giving Back” campaign is part of Disney Friends for Change, a multi-platform initiative that inspires kids and families to make a positive impact by helping people, communities and the planet. To learn more about Friends for Change, visit Disney.com/friends.
