Television’s biggest night is just days away. The 76th Emmy® Awards will recognize preeminent programs, phenomenal performances, and superb storytelling across multiple platforms. So, before the Emmys air live on ABC, get all the details on this year’s ceremony. 

What’s airing before the Emmys?

Disney Legend Robin Roberts will host The 76th Emmys: A Night of Firsts, airing Friday, September 13, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. A special edition of 20/20, ABC News’ primetime special will give viewers insight into the milestone moments, historic nominations, and powerful storytelling that has defined an epic year of firsts for this year’s television season. The special will feature interviews with nominees Hiroyuki Sanada (Shōgun), Lionel Boyce (The Bear), and Lily Gladstone (Under the Bridge), along with television icon Carol Burnett. Chris Connolly will interview hosts Eugene and Dan Levy, as well as Only Murders in the Building stars Disney Legend Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, and Meryl Streep.

FXX will broadcast an edited presentation of the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday, September 14, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Across two nights—Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8—The Walt Disney Company won 51 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

Finally, Will Reeve will join Roberts on Sunday, September 15, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, to host ABC’s official preshow, On the Red Carpet: Live at the Emmys (streaming next day on Hulu).

When are the Emmys on TV?

The 76th Emmy Awards will air live on ABC from the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 15 (8-11 p.m. ET/5-8 p.m. PT), and stream next day on Hulu.

Other notable nominees include Only Murders in the Building with 21; Fargo with 15, Feud: Capote vs. The Swans with 10; Abbott Elementary with nine; Jim Henson Idea Man and What We Do in the Shadows with eight each; The Oscars with seven; Welcome to Wrexham with six; Ahsoka and Dancing with the Stars with five each; and Reservation Dogs with four; among others.

Who is the hosting the 2024 Emmys?

Eugene Levy and Dan Levy will host the 76th Emmy Awards, making them the first father-son duo to do so. “We are thrilled to welcome two generations of comedy genius to the Emmys stage as hosts,” Cris Abrego, Television Academy Chair, said. “Eugene and Dan Levy are known for creating unforgettable laugh-out-loud moments onscreen, and together, they are super-charged.
