Production Begins on ‘Into the Woods,’ New Adventures by Disney Itinerary Announced, Princess Fairytale Hall Opens at Magic Kingdom

I’m so excited about The Walt Disney Studios’ upcoming slate of films, and Into the Woods is top on my must-see list—especially because the story features some of my favorite characters from childhood. Hear the latest from the Into the Woods set, plus additional highlights from around the Company.

If you’re a fan of classic fairy tales (like me), great news! The Walt Disney Studios announced that production is underway for 2014’s Into the Woods. If you haven’t already heard, this humorous and heartfelt story follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with a witch who has placed a curse on them. The all-star cast features Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine and Johnny Depp.

Yesterday’s Adventures by Disney article gave us a glimpse of multigenerational itineraries that families can experience around the world, and just this week, the Disney Parks Blog announced a new, Frozen-inspired Norway itinerary! Guests will be able to follow in Frozen’s filmmakers’ footsteps to experience the breathtaking beauty of the country and culture. Stay tuned for more details about the trip.

A Fairytale Hall filled with Disney Princesses? Count me in! An “open house” took place at Magic Kingdom this week when doors of the all-new Princess Fairytale Hall opened to guests and princess fans alike. The enchanting new home to Cinderella, Rapunzel and the princesses who visit them is fit for royalty with lush purple and gold trimmings, stonewalls and ornate chandeliers. Take a (virtual) trip to Walt Disney World Resort and see the beautiful scenery here.
