In March, we invited five lifestyle bloggers to Disney for an immersion into the history and timeless style of Minnie Mouse as a kick-off to their new roles as Minnie Messengers.
Minnie Messengers are bloggers who will act as Minnie’s eyes and ears, sharing live updates from fashion shows, music events and more, blogging about Minnie-inspired style. A number of team members have been involved in this new initiative and we’re excited to share this news on Disney Post!
During the immersion, the Messengers browsed through our Minnie Mouse fashion and accessory collections, selecting pieces to style a look that represented both their personal styles and evoked Minnie. Each Messenger identified with a different aspect of Minnie’s style, from feminine bows, to chic ensembles of black, white and red, to flirty skirts and heels.
A trip through the archives was both inspirational and educational. The Messengers were inspired and surprised by the history of Minnie Mouse, and how her on- and off-screen style has both evolved with and influenced fashion trends throughout the decades.
Meeting Minnie Mouse at Disneyland, who was decked out in a dress designed for an editorial spread in Russian Vogue, was a highlight for the bloggers and brought to life Minnie’s international influence.
Minnie Mouse has served as the muse for many designers, inspiring new fashion collections, and appearing in runway shows from New York and Mexico, to Tokyo and Paris. You may be surprised to find out that Minnie has more than 200 dresses in her wardrobe, and while for special occasions she may appear in designer fashions or other seasonal attire, her traditional polka dot dress is a mainstay that she’ll wear day-to-day across Disney Theme Parks, products and experiences. Disney Consumer Products will continue to expand Minnie’s lifestyle product offerings across all categories including fashion and accessories, beauty, shoes, consumer electronics, and more.
The Minnie Messengers are excited to keep fans up-to-date on all things Minnie including seasonal trends inspired by the style icon herself. All updates will be shared via the Minnie Messengers respective Babble Blogs and social media channels.
The Messengers were identified based on their interest and influence in fashion, music, health and other lifestyle categories, but, more importantly, based on their personal attributes – self-expression, confidence, optimism and femininity – which truly embody the spirit of Minnie Mouse.
Messengers Ana Flores, Lauren Hartmann, Minnie Mouse, Mindy McKnight, Casey Mullins and Lauren Jimeson
Making their first red carpet appearance, the Minnie Messengers will be live at the Radio Disney Awards on April 27th giving fans a behind-the-scenes look into the Minnie Gifting Lounge. Immersed in fashion, entertaining, health and more, these ladies are ready to represent the “leading lady” of Disney. Messengers are dedicated to showing girls of all ages the importance of living life confidently and expressing themselves — because living with zest never goes out of style.
Starting this Saturday, follow our Minnie Messengers on your favorite social channels to find all things Minnie, using the hashtag, #MinnieStyle.
