Cruise Critic members have recognized Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay, as the “Best Cruise Line Private Island” in its Cruisers’ Choice Destination Awards. The 1,000-acre island is exclusive to Disney Cruise Line guests, and was the first private island in the cruise industry where the ship docks alongside so guests do not have to tender to land.
Castaway Cay also came out on top as the most highly ranked island by its members among all Caribbean categories—best Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean islands. Cruisers praised the island’s clean, beautiful beaches and multitude of options for both kids and adults.
Cruise Critic’s Cruisers’ Choice Destination Awards is the first-ever destination focused awards based exclusively on member ratings submitted with reviews on the Cruise Critic website. Earlier this year, members also ranked Disney Cruise Line first in 11 categories during its 6th Annual Global Cruise Critic Cruiser’s Choice Awards, receiving the most first place awards than any other cruise line. Disney was recognized in a wide variety of categories, from best overall ship (Disney Dream) to best dining, best entertainment, best service, best cabins and more.
