After a successful debut in 2013, The Walt Disney Company Japan announced today that D23 Expo Japan 2015 will take place over three days, November 6–8, 2015 at the Tokyo Disney Resort®.
This special event for Disney fans—themed around “the power of story”—will bring together the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel through a number of special panels, presentations and exhibits. Some of the highlights include a special Walt Disney Archives exhibit on Disney Princesses featuring costumes, artwork, vintage collectibles and film props; and other hands-on experiences that celebrate fan-favorites like Star Wars, Toy Story and the Tokyo Disney Resort. Further details will be posted here as they become available.
“We heard from a lot of fans about how delighted they were with the D23 Expo we held in 2013, and this Expo promises to be even more spectacular,” said Walt Disney Japan President Paul Candland. “We’re very excited about being able to present this great event once again, and we know our guests will have an incredible experience during the three days we have planned for them. ”
A few days before D23 Expo Japan kicks off, a Kingdom Hearts fan event will also be held on November 3 at Cinema Ikspiari, Tokyo Disney Resort. Program information for the event, Kingdom Hearts―The Theater (working title), will be posted on the official Disney website starting in late April. Kingdom Hearts is a role-playing video game featuring Disney characters that has gained great popularity in Japan.
D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is a special event held every two years as part of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club’s ongoing engagement with Disney’s most passionate fans. It has been held three times, bringing Disney fans from all over the world to Anaheim, California. The next D23 Expo will return to the Anaheim Convention Center this August 14–16, 2015.
