Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War posted an incredible $39 million in Thursday evening previews, the fourth biggest preview gross ever and the biggest preview gross for a Marvel title, ahead of Captain America: Civil War ($25 million), Black Panther ($25.2 million) and Avengers: Age of Ultron ($27.6 million).
With great momentum from February’s $1.3 billion hit Black Panther, this third Avengers film is the culmination of the first 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has released 19 films to critical acclaim and commercial success.
Internationally, Avengers: Infinity War has earned an outstanding $95 million in its first two days. It began rolling out April 25 in 21 material markets, followed by an additional 22 yesterday. The film has so far registered the highest opening day in industry history in Korea, Brazil, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Central America, Chile, Peru, Bolivia and UAE. Today, in addition to its North American debut, the film opens in Spain, Mexico, Japan, India, Turkey and South Africa. The film opens in Russia on May 3 and in China on May 11.
Highly anticipated by fans around the world, Avengers: Infinity War has also earned an 85-percent critic review from Rotten Tomatoes.
