Trying a variety of new foods and activities is part of living healthy. That’s the message of Disney’s TRYit! campaign. From inspirational messages on-air and online to a special TRYathlon event and road tour, kids and families are being encouraged to take action to be their best.
In fact, the TRYathlon TRYouts are happening now through April 15. We’re asking kids to enter by uploading videos of themselves trying new foods or fun moves. The winner will get a chance to participate in a televised TRYathlon event alongside Disney XD stars.
The TV special will also kick off a road tour – hosted by Radio Disney – to bring the campaign to 10 cities across the U.S.
TRYit! is part of Disney Magic of Healthy Living, a company-wide initiative that partners with parents and inspires kids to live healthier lifestyles by making them simple and fun.
In addition to TRYit!, Disney Magic of Healthy Living includes our landmark nutrition guidelines established in 2006, food advertising standards on programming oriented to kids fully in place by 2015 and fun tools like the Mickey Check.
So far, the Magic of Healthy Living initiative has proven to be effective – according to Disney research, more than 80 percent of kids exposed to the messages were inspired to try more physical activity and 78 percent consumed more fruits and vegetables.
