'Star Wars': Force for Change Raises $4.26 Million for UNICEF

With an exciting initiative that offered a chance to win unique rewards and prizes, including a once-in-a-lifetime grand prize, "Star Wars": Force for Change raised $4.26 million for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Contributions were received from citizens of 125 countries and enough money was raised to support the equivalent of seven to eight new UNICEF Innovation Labs. The grand-prize winner was D.C. Barns of Denver, Colorado, who will enjoy a trip to London for himself and a guest, a behind-the-scenes visit to the Star Wars set and will be fitted with a costume and filmed for a scene in "Star Wars": Episode VII.

'Diversity MBA Magazine' Names Two Disney Executives in its "2014 Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive & Emerging Leaders" List

The Walt Disney Company is proud to announce that Leslie Ferraro, executive vice president, Global Marketing, Sales and Travel Operations, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, and Renu Thomas, senior vice president, Technology and Operations, Disney/ABC Networks Group, were recognized in Diversity MBA Magazine’s “2014 Top 100 Under 50 Executives and Emerging Leaders.” This highly competitive annual list honors individuals’ achievements in the workplace and their respective communities. The leaders were chosen by a selection committee based upon their positions, tenures, contributions to the community in which they live and work and advanced degrees.

Play Together Tour Helps Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Deliver on Citizenship Efforts

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has teamed up with KaBOOM! once again, this time to sponsor their Play Together Tour, which will travel to six cities across America this summer to give families the chance to connect through the power of play. The tour will feature a free, fun-filled family play experience—designed by our very own Imagineers—that encourages meaningful connections between children and the influential adults in their lives.
