Code.org Releases 'Frozen' Hour of Code Tutorial

By Scott Slesinger, Disney Interactive
Disney Interactive and Code.org just unveiled a computer science tutorial featuring heroines Anna and Elsa from "Frozen." The tutorial kicks off the second-annual Hour of Code campaign, a worldwide effort to broaden participation in computer science—especially by girls—during Computer Science Education Week (taking place December 8–14). Students around the world will learn to write code that enables "Disney Infinity" versions of Disney’s "Frozen" characters Anna and Elsa to draw snowflakes and snowmen and perform magical “ice craft” in Code.org’s signature lesson for the Hour of Code 2014. Additionally, the tutorial aims to teach logic and math and nurtures creative thinking through introductory computer programming.

Disney Invests in Protecting Forests Around the World

By Cynthia Momdjian, The Walt Disney Company
Walt Disney once said, “The land itself—should be as dear to us all as our political heritage and our treasured way of life. Its preservation and the wise conservation of its renewable resources concerns every man, woman and child whose possession it is.” Disney’s environmental legacy is as long as the Company’s timeline. We believe our actions as a company must meet the standard set by the stories we tell. Disney has filled this role through the responsible actions it has taken as a company, including efforts to use resources wisely and conserve nature as the Company operates and grows. Forests have always played a healing role in nature. They provide us with fresh air, filter toxins out of water sources and prevent erosion. They are also home to millions of animals, critters and communities.
