Disney Hosts GI Film Festival Sharing the Stories and Talents of Veterans

On Veterans Day, we take time to honor and thank those who serve our country while recognizing their talents extend far beyond the frontlines. Earlier this month, the artistic abilities of military veterans were on display as The Walt Disney Company, Disney-ABC Television Group, and Disney’s Heroes Work Here hosted the GI Film Festival at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. Taking place for the second year in a row in Los Angeles, the festival on November 1-2 celebrated the filmmaking achievements of veterans while providing resources and guidance for those transitioning from military service into the entertainment industry.

Marvel, Disney and Skype Connect Kids from Children's Hospital Los Angeles with the Stars of 'Thor: The Dark World' at the U.S. Premiere

For nearly 30 years, The Walt Disney Company has dedicated time and talent to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), bringing happiness, hope and laughter to children and families when they need it most. On Monday, we continued the tradition by teaming up with Skype to connect the stars of Marvel’s "Thor: The Dark World" with some very special VIPs. Patients at the Los Angeles-area hospital attended the U.S. premiere of the film with a little magic and the help of an oversized monitor that virtually whisked them to the glitz and glamour of the red carpet.
