An Inside Look at Disney Television Animation

From the iconic whistle tune in "Steamboat Willie" to "Fantasia’s" magnificent score, music has always played a vital role in the story of Mickey Mouse. At Disney Television Animation (TVA), the musical team behind the award-winning "Mickey Mouse" cartoon shorts continues the tradition of musical storytelling in every comical episode. Jay Stutler, vice president, Music; Paul Rudish, executive producer and supervising director; and composer Chris Willis recently sat down with Disney Post to talk about their roles and what it takes to develop the melodies and sounds of the laugh-out-loud cartoon series.

'Captain America 3' Gets Release Date as Marvel's 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' Sets April Record

Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier opened domestically this weekend with a stellar $95 million for the biggest April debut of all time. Buoyed by $10.2 million in Thursday night screenings, the film set Friday, Saturday and Sunday daily records for the month of April.

Behind the Scenes at ABC's 'The View' with 'NBA Countdown' Host Sage Steele

It’s quite common to see familiar faces from across The Walt Disney Company appear on ABC, ESPN, the Disney Channel, Disney XD and throughout the Disney family of networks in a variety of different roles. Crossover opportunities are often developed across Disney platforms to share unique resources and content, while introducing key programming to new audiences. For example, hosts from ABC’s "The Chew" shared recipes on ESPN’s "College GameDay" and ESPN Radio’s Colin Cowherd and SEC Network’s Brent Musburger voiced animated characters in Disney•Pixar’s "Cars 2" and "Disney’s Planes".

Disney Publishing Worldwide Shines at Bologna Children's Book Fair

Bologna, Italy, is a city known for its culinary tradition. But did you also know that it’s the location of one of the largest children’s book festivals? Each year, Disney Publishing Worldwide (DPW) travels to Bologna, along with hundreds of publishers, editors, authors and agents to attend the Bologna Children’s Book Fair—a three-day event that is one of the most significant book festivals for the children’s publishing industry. In 2013, the fair had 1,200 exhibitors from 75 countries and 25,000 international professional trade representatives. This year’s book fair—which took place March 24–27—marked another action-packed event. DPW’s booth was a popular destination for guests and showcased the latest content from Disney’s publishing arm.
