Nominations in all 24 categories of the Academy Awards® were announced this week, and Disney films garnered nine nominations: Actress in a Supporting Role—Meryl Streep, "Into the Woods"; Animated Feature Film—"Big Hero 6," Don Hall, Chris Williams and Roy Conti; Costume Design—"Into the Woods," Colleen Atwood, and Maleficent, Anna B. Sheppard and Jane Clive; Makeup and Hairstyling—Marvel’s "Guardians of the Galaxy," Elizabeth Yianni-Georgiou and David White; Production Design—"Into the Woods," Dennis Gassner (Production Design) and Anna Pinnock (Set Decoration); Short Film (Animated)—"Feast," Patrick Osborne and Kristina Reed; Visual Effects—Marvel’s "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," Dan DeLeeuw, Russell Earl, Bryan Grill and Dan Sudick, and Marvel’s "Guardians of the Galaxy," Stephane Ceretti, Nicolas Aithadi, Jonathan Fawkner and Paul Corbould. Disney News This Week: 'Toy Story 4' Announced, New 'Into the Woods' Trailer, 'Star Wars': Episode VII Gets a Title—'The Force Awakens'

Nearly two decades after Pixar Animation Studios created the world’s first computer-animated feature film with Toy Story, it revealed plans for Disney•Pixar’s "Toy Story 4," an adventure that returns audiences to the world of the studio’s signature characters. John Lasseter, director of the original "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2," will direct the film, which opens a new chapter in the lives of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the "Toy Story" gang. The story was dreamt up by Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter and Lee Unkrich, the storytellers who have been the driving force behind all three Toy Story films. Writing team Rashida Jones and Will McCormack joined the project, and Pixar veteran Galyn Susman is producing. The film is slated for release on June 16, 2017.

Disney News This Week: 'Frozen' Attraction Coming to Epcot, 'Into the Woods' One-Sheet Released, 19th Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Begins, New 'Star Wars'-Themed College Apparel Launches

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs recently announced that construction is starting at Walt Disney World Resort on a brand-new "Frozen" attraction at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot. The new attraction replaces "Maelstrom" and will take guests to Arendelle and immerse them in many of their favorite moments and music from the film. Disney Club Penguin is bringing the magic of Disney’s "Frozen" to Club Penguin Island now through September 3. During the Frozen Party, members can dress up like their favorite characters from the film, including Olaf, Sven, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff. They will also start the party by searching for Elsa’s magic snowflakes that are hidden around the island.

'Star Wars': Force for Change Raises $4.26 Million for UNICEF

With an exciting initiative that offered a chance to win unique rewards and prizes, including a once-in-a-lifetime grand prize, "Star Wars": Force for Change raised $4.26 million for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Contributions were received from citizens of 125 countries and enough money was raised to support the equivalent of seven to eight new UNICEF Innovation Labs. The grand-prize winner was D.C. Barns of Denver, Colorado, who will enjoy a trip to London for himself and a guest, a behind-the-scenes visit to the Star Wars set and will be fitted with a costume and filmed for a scene in "Star Wars": Episode VII.

"Maleficent: The Official Multi-Touch Book," based on Disney's highly anticipated film Maleficent (now playing in theaters), is now available for free exclusively through iBooks. The book explores both the legacy of Disney's classic animated film, Sleeping Beauty—which first introduced the iconic villainess Maleficent—and the making of the all-new live-action film, "Maleficent," starring Angelina Jolie.
