Disney Television Animation's 'Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero'—A Match Made in Storytelling

Ten years ago, Jared Bush started thinking about how cool it would be to jump into different worlds and different genres. It was a concept he always held onto and thought would make a great cartoon, but he just couldn’t seem to get the idea fully baked in his mind. “Who was going to [jump around] and when was that going to happen,” Jared recalls asking himself. “How would we get to those different worlds?” Enter Sam Levine. It was around four years ago that Jonathan Schneider, executive director, Development, Disney Television Animation, facilitated a lunch meeting between the two soon-to-be creators and executive producers of "Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero," and they clicked instantly.

Disney Friends for Change Grants Inspire Creativity Among Young Change-Makers

There’s a common theme in making a difference—creativity. Whether you’re looking to protect the planet, help your community or promote healthy behaviors, your creative ideas can inspire your friends and peers to lend their skills, interests and talents to create a brighter tomorrow. Disney Friends for Change, too, is committed to supporting young leaders in pursuit of making their communities greener, safer, smarter, healthier, cleaner and fairer. Their annual grants program, through a collaboration with leading youth organization Youth Service America, will provide $500 grants to help young dreamers and doers make a lasting, positive change in the world. Projects and initiatives taking place on or around Global Youth Service Day (April 17–19) will highlight the creativity and commitment of young people who work to meet the needs of others.

Q&A with Zendaya from Disney Channel's Upcoming Series 'K.C. Undercover'

On Sunday, January 18 (8:30 p.m. ET/PT), Disney Channel will introduce your favorite new super-spy series, "K.C. Undercover." The live-action comedy for kids, tweens and families stars multi-talented actress and recording artist Zendaya—a Disney veteran, who at 18 years old, has already lent her talents to projects that span the entire Company. Whether starring as Rocky Blue in Disney Channel’s "Shake It Up," making it to the finals on ABC’s "Dancing with the Stars" or releasing her self-titled debut album via Hollywood Records, we thought she’d just about done it all. But this time, Zendaya is not only acting in this new Disney Channel series, she’s also co-producing it. Disney Post recently sat down with the star for a behind-the-scenes look at "K.C. Undercover" and to learn about her co-producing role on the show.

60 Local Students Join Disney Interactive Employees for Hour of Code 2014

To kick off the second annual Hour of Code global campaign aimed toward K-12 students during Computer Science Education Week, earlier this week, we opened up our offices in Kelowna, Palo Alto, Seattle and Glendale to local students for an afternoon of coding using the "Disney Infinity" versions of Disney’s "Frozen" characters Anna and Elsa in Code.org’s Hour of Code 2014 signature lesson.

Disney Employees "Share the Joy" at Family Volunteer Day

November marks the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year, especially at Disney. Our VoluntEARS are kicking off the season with the “Share the Joy” campaign, which provides volunteering opportunities for Disney employees across the country. The first “Share the Joy” event took place this past Saturday, on Family Volunteer Day, where employees and their families got a head start on spreading holiday cheer in their neighborhoods. Disney Friends for Change—a global initiative that inspires kids and their families to make a lasting, positive change by helping people, communities and the planet—and Points of Light’s generationOn initiative invited mom, dad and kids of all ages to come together for a fun-filled day of service.
