An Inside Look at Disney Television Animation

From the iconic whistle tune in "Steamboat Willie" to "Fantasia’s" magnificent score, music has always played a vital role in the story of Mickey Mouse. At Disney Television Animation (TVA), the musical team behind the award-winning "Mickey Mouse" cartoon shorts continues the tradition of musical storytelling in every comical episode. Jay Stutler, vice president, Music; Paul Rudish, executive producer and supervising director; and composer Chris Willis recently sat down with Disney Post to talk about their roles and what it takes to develop the melodies and sounds of the laugh-out-loud cartoon series.

How Disney Friends for Change Inspired Me

Okay, this is a little embarrassing, but when I found out that I got the part for "Austin & Ally," I literally jumped up and down on my bed out of excitement. I just couldn’t help it! I had grown up with Disney Channel, and let’s be honest, who wouldn’t be thrilled about being on a Disney show? And this opportunity turned out to be way better than I ever could have imagined. I joined the Disney family and got the chance to do what I love every day, and on top of that, I’m also able to give to my community in so many ways.

Disney Supercharges 2014 American International Toy Fair with Award Wins and Action-Packed Product Lines

Today, as we kick off the 2014 American International Toy Fair, we announced that the Toy Industry Association (TIA) has awarded Disney’s Doc McStuffins Get Better Check-Up Center by Just Play “Preschool Toy of the Year.” The award was first announced at the annual Toy of the Year Awards, a prestigious toy industry awards program that identifies the top toys available during the previous calendar year. Winners are selected based on votes from toy manufacturers, retailers, media and consumers.
