Disney News This Week: Details Announced for Diamond Celebration at Disneyland Resort, MagicBand Reaches New Distribution Milestone, Disney Junior Announces 'Elena of Avalor'

On Wednesday, Disneyland Resort announced three sensational new nighttime spectaculars that will dazzle guests and help celebrate 60 years of magic at Disneyland Park. Nighttime will glitter like never before when the latest technology and immersive special effects light up the sky with the "Paint the Night" parade and "Disneyland Forever" fireworks spectacular in Disneyland Park.

Disney News This Week: Land of 'Frozen' Coming to Disney Cruise Line This Summer, Villains and Outlaws Join 'Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition),' Disney Interactive Launches New 'Disney Inquizitive' App

On Thursday, Disney Cruise Line announced that beginning in summer 2015, guests can immerse themselves in the animated hit "Frozen" with brand-new experiences inspired by the film including a spectacular deck party, a three-song stage show production number, new character meet and greets, storybook adventures ashore and more. On select "Disney Magic" and "Disney Wonder" sailings to Europe and Alaska, Disney Cruise Line guests will be transported to the land of "Frozen" when the ship is transformed into a winter wonderland. On one special morning, guests will awake to discover a magical freeze has overtaken the atrium lobby with sparkling icicles adorning the grand staircase, resembling the majestic mountain-top ice palace of Queen Elsa. The frozen fun culminates with an extravagant celebration with friends from the Kingdom of Arendelle.

Nominations in all 24 categories of the Academy Awards® were announced this week, and Disney films garnered nine nominations: Actress in a Supporting Role—Meryl Streep, "Into the Woods"; Animated Feature Film—"Big Hero 6," Don Hall, Chris Williams and Roy Conti; Costume Design—"Into the Woods," Colleen Atwood, and Maleficent, Anna B. Sheppard and Jane Clive; Makeup and Hairstyling—Marvel’s "Guardians of the Galaxy," Elizabeth Yianni-Georgiou and David White; Production Design—"Into the Woods," Dennis Gassner (Production Design) and Anna Pinnock (Set Decoration); Short Film (Animated)—"Feast," Patrick Osborne and Kristina Reed; Visual Effects—Marvel’s "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," Dan DeLeeuw, Russell Earl, Bryan Grill and Dan Sudick, and Marvel’s "Guardians of the Galaxy," Stephane Ceretti, Nicolas Aithadi, Jonathan Fawkner and Paul Corbould.
